Travel Fund Form

The Center on Health, Aging, and Disability has initiated a travel fund to support tenure-track and tenured faculty, as well as, academic professionals and lecturers/instructors/clinical associates/research associates (not post-doc’s or students) who are presenting research papers or posters at scientific meetings. This fund is for use after other sources of funding (e.g. UIUC Scholar’s Travel Fund) have been exhausted. The following are guidelines on the CHAD Travel Funds:

Guidelines

  • Funds are used to support travel costs associated with participation in scientific meetings to present research papers or poster presentations
  • State, national, or international conferences are eligible
  • All tenured and tenure-track faculty in AHS are eligible to apply
  • Academic Professionals including lecturers/instructors/clinical associates and research associates are eligible to apply (not post-docs or students)
  • Limit per year is $1000 per person
  • Funds may be used to cover multiple trips (up to $1000/yr limit)
  • Annual funding will run from July 1 – June 30 of a given year
  • Applicants need to show support and/or that requests for support elsewhere were not successful (e.g., department, grant, or STF)
  • Retroactive applications not accepted; submit completed application at least 2 weeks prior to travel
  • PLEASE NOTE: Your submitted travel fund application will be forwarded to your unit head for approval. Your unit head must approve this travel before CHAD will award any travel funds. You will receive an approval/denial letter once processed.
